Banerjee claimed that she was intentionally pushed by 4 to 5 individuals after she filed her nomination from the constituency for the upcoming meeting elections. She alleged that there have been no native police on the spot when the incident came about.

The BJP in the meantime accused her of attempting to show a “easy accident” right into a “pre-planned conspiracy”, and that it was ways to achieve sympathy.
